The day has finally come – you are here, in New Zealand, on the other side of the world – you have been dreaming about this trip for such a long time. Now to make sure you get the best out of it!
We’re a helpful chatty bunch
Stop and say hi to the locals – filling up with fuel, buying stamps for your postcards, having a drink in a bar – we’re the ones with those little extra tips that put the shine on your trip. We are proud of our country and so glad that you have made the effort to come and see it – we love to show it off – so talk to us and listen to us!
Try New Zealand foods
You’ve probably got the Pacific Rim and Kai Moana and the best beef and lamb in the world sussed – but no trip here would be complete without a Hokey Pokey Ice Cream, a Chocolate Fish, a whitebait sandwich, bacon and egg pie and that great Kiwi invention – Pavlova! We also love our fish and chips – grab yourself a couple of bits of blue cod, a scoop of chips a bottle of sav and eat al fresco!
Drink New Zealand drinks
And likewise the pinots, sauvignons, in fact all our excellent wines and the craft beers– it goes without saying that these will be on your radar – but also try some L&P, Feijoa Juice or cider, raspberry and coke and when you stop for a coffee – go for a flat white.
Take your time
It’s a holiday – it’s your holiday – waste a bit of time, take your time – don’t rush from destination to destination, activity to activity – one of the great beauties of New Zealand is just being here – soak it up. The drives are stunning, pull over at the many view points and admire the scenery; stop, have a coffee (flat white!) watch the world go by; go for a walk – just enjoy the journey.
Have a swim
Beaches, rivers, waterfalls, lakes when was the last time you had a swim in the great outdoors? It’s part and parcel of kiwi life – keep your togs handy in the car and come and join us!
Push your boundaries
Walking, biking, kayaking, and any amount of other outdoor activities – surprise yourself! Take yourself back to your childhood summers and have a bit of an adventure.
